The difference between Essential oils and fragrance oils;
Essential oils are pure plant oils, usually extracted by steam distillation from flowers, leaves or bark, depending on the plant or tree.
They are easily absorbed by our skin and mucous membranes and transported around our body. Our skin allows them access into our bodies as they are natural extracts. They work holistically (for the whole), on mind, body and spirit. This is how they provide their therapeutic and healing properties, unlike fragrance oils, which are mainly synthetic and don’t provide us with any therapeutic benefits.
Pure Essential oil blends can be used in a variety of ways.
1) Diffuse – Add approx. 6 drops to water in an oil burner or use in a diffuser.
2) Massage – Add 3 drops to 10ml of your chosen carrier oil.
3) Steam inhalation – Great before bed or for fast relief of tension & stress as it gets into the bodies system quickly! Add approx. 5 drops to a bowl of hot (not boiling) water and breathe the steam deeply with a towel over your head or use a face steamer. Remember to keep eyes closed!
4) Bath – Add approx. 8 drops to a relaxing bath.
6) Skincare – Follow advice for massage or add a couple of drops to any un-fragranced lotion.
